Appraisal Services

Over the years, individuals, businesses, institutions and nonprofit organizations from Eastern Iowa and nation-wide receive professional, qualified art appraisals from CornerHouse Gallery and Frame. The appraisal process involves thorough examination of a piece of artwork by our qualified appraiser to estimate insurance values and determine donation values.

Our staff includes a fine art appraiser accredited through the International Society of Appraisers. Our appraiser’s expertise encompasses local and regional artwork; however, we can also access an international network of appraisers when the need arises.

In an appraisal, we examine the condition, characteristics, identifying marks and labels; verify dates; and obtain measurements and photos. Research is completed and then evaluated to provide a value based on comparable sales in the appropriate marketplace.

The final report includes a definition of values, a value summary sheet, an itemized list of the property appraised with current appraised value, photographs and the appraiser’s qualifications.
