Businesses, institutions, and nonprofit organizations from Eastern Iowa and nation-wide have received professional, qualified art appraisals from CornerHouse Gallery & Frame. We contract several fine art appraisers accredited through the International Society of Appraisers.
The Appraisal Process
The appraisal process involves thorough examination of a piece of artwork by our qualified appraisers to estimate insurance values and determine donation values. In an appraisal, we examine the condition, characteristics, identifying marks and labels, verify dates, and obtain measurements and photos. Research is completed and then evaluated to provide a value based on comparable sales in the marketplace. The final report includes a definition of values, a value summary sheet, an itemized list of the property appraised with current appraised value, photographs, and the appraiser's qualifications.
Remember to have artwork appraised at least every 5 years or if change occurs for you or the artist.
